Summer Solstice Event - June 21st at 5:30am
Cathy Lindsey told us the other night about the energy of this summer solstice. Cathy said, "This Summer Solstice is a very important one as the Solstice is always an opening to the Universe and this year with the transits that are listed below it will be a very powerful time to manifest and meditate! It will be a powerful time to connect and pray/manifest/mediate on the Earth/humanity/ascension and love." Then, while brainstorming with friends, wanted to know at which point in the world sunrise coincides with the most northerly latitude of the sun. They discovered after much computer calculation that that point, in all of the world, was in central Iowa! (Roughly just south of the Newton area)

We feel that Des Moines is close enough and we want to celebrate this special event! So here is the plan:
What: Summer Solstice Meditation and Celebration
When: Sunday, June 21st, 2009, 5:30am (Yes, in the morning!) ;o)
Where: SW Corner of Grey's Lake
The sunrise is at 5:41am. Please bring chairs or blankets and be settled in by 5:30am. Feel free to bring flutes, drums, bells, etc. if you like.

(Back in the 60's we called this a "happening"!) And it will be HAPPENING!


Water Blessing Solstice Event- June 21st at 9am
The Water Blessing Solstice Event is scheduled for June 21st, 9am, Waterworks Park. Enter into the park off George Flagg Dr. We will gather just left of the entrance at the river. Dress warm enough. Bring an open heart filled with gratitude, something to sit on, and an indigenous instrument if you have one. All are welcome to share a blessing, poem, song, etc to raise the energy level of the water. This event will fill 30 -45 minutes. Call Sandi Smith at 515-480-8074 with questions.
